Happiness n
The state of being, happy. To be cheerful or willing. To enjoy or show satisfaction, pleasure or joy

Your beliefs come from the significant people in your life. They share their own belief system with you –how they believe you are or at least “should be”. They are creating their own thoughts; own fears, own pictures, own biological reaction to what they believe is right. But what if they are wrong?
All this to uphold the truths you believe. But what if you are wrong ?
The very moment you choose a new belief things start to change. You will see the world differently, act differently, and be different.
Here at The Happiness Clinic we look at destructive beliefs and thought patterns and replace them with something more positive.
Once we believed the world was flat. When proved to be wrong, it opened up a whole new world –literally! Changing your beliefs will do the same for you.
A positive mental attitude makes the brain release a different set of hormones. The more times you think positive of the person you want to become, the more this will happen. The more positive hormones are released the more chance your brain has to find solutions giving you more choices and the courage to see it through.
The moment you stop trying to change is the moment you are stuck where you are. If you don’t like where you are, MOVE!
Here at The Happiness Clinic we show you ways to challenge those beliefs.
If we started with a clean sheet without the knowledge of past experience or had a different past experience how would that alter the experience now?
If we believe that would happen, what would happen if we believed something else to be true? Try it with the opposite belief. Make an image and make it real –change the submodalities.
Most people grumble and complain about their lives. Going round and round they never stop to consider what it is they actually want. How can you change unless you know what it is you want? So first and foremost you have to be clear on this.
The human brain does not hear negatives. To demonstrate this here’s a simple experiment. Say to yourself, “The dog did not chase the cat.” What image is created in your mind?
I don’t want to be fat becomes I want to be slimmer, healthier, feel better about myself. I don’t want to be depressed becomes I want to feel happier.
You can try it now! Imagine being the person you want to be. It doesn’t matter if you still believe you couldn’t be them. Just try it, See how it would feel. Make it as real as you can.
People do not realise it but the images we make can be manipulated. That is to say they come in a format that can be altered.
You can be in the picture (disassociated) or looking out of the picture through your eyes (associated);
You can even change their position.
These are known as the images submodalities. Changing one for another changes the way we feel about the image. For example: think of a happy memory. Change your image from colour to black and white or visa versa or if you see yourself in the picture step into the picture See the image through your eyes as though you were there. If it alters the feeling more negatively change the image back to the way it was. If it makes it more positive great, keep it.
Back to the person you would like to be. When you have your image of the new and improved you, change the submodalities to make it as real as possible. Play around with it until it makes you feel the best it can.
Once you have the image of what you want, you are a step closer to making it happen.
